Dear family & friends,

Wow – I can’t believe our time in Costa Rica has flown by so quickly! Tomorrow morning, we will be hopping on an airplane to return home from our mission trip. Here’s a quick look at what we did today…
The day started with our team meeting, journalling through Mark 8:34-38 together. Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
After that, I went to pay for our exit visas at the bank while the team did some souvenir shopping. We had lunch back at Pastor John and Debbie’s, where we had a special birthday cake for Chelsea who turned 17 today. Then we loaded up the van and headed into Filadelphia for a day of ministry. We were so excited to see that more work had been done on the church, and it is almost completely painted. We praise the Lord and rejoice with what God is doing, and going to do, through this new lighthouse in this community! Pray for them as they get ready for their first Sunday morning service this weekend. Give them a harvest of souls, Lord!
First of all, we hit the streets and went door to door in the neighbourhood, handing out invitations to the Filadelphia Foursquare Church’s first evening meeting tonight. We ended up in a large park in the middle of town, where we continued handing out invitations, Gospels tracts, and baseball caps. It was then that Pastor John got the great inspiration that we should do our “Tu Amor Es Grande” song right there in the middle of the park! And we did. We got out our portable sound system and the team continued to stretch. (If I haven’t mentioned it yet in my blog, that’s kind of been the theme of our trip – getting out of the boat, and allowing the Lord to stretch us and cause us to grow).
In the evening service tonight, we did our two songs, and Caleb and Leanne shared their testimonies. There were some tearful goodbyes as we said goodbye to many of the Costa Rican church members who we had come to call our friends this past week. We loaded up the van and returned home a quick debrief from the day, swim time, and packing our bags. We are leaving for the airport at 6:15 in the morning, so pray for us as we have another long travel day!
I want to give a huge thank you and God bless you to our church family, and all of our family and friends back home who have supported us with your prayers, finances, and donations of baseball caps and reading glasses. You have enabled us to sow into a mighty work of God that is going on in Costa Rica! My prayer for you is: “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your PARTNERSHIPin the gospel from the first day until now.” (Phil. 1:3-5).
Love in Jesus,
Pastor Chris Jordan
