Dear church family,
Christ is risen – He is risen indeed! it is two days after Easter weekend, and I hope you are still walking in His resurrection power in your life. On Good Friday morning, we had a smaller group gather (around 100) to remember Jesus’ death on the Cross. Andy, Tracey and Jody led us in the singing of some great hymns from the past, including How Great Thou Art. Then I shared a message with an overview of the events that transpired on that first Good Friday, concluding with an overview of Christ’s Seven Wonderful Words from the Cross. Pastor Alvin concluded the service by leading us in a time of communion. If you missed this service, you can listen to or download the audio MP3 HERE. (the audio recording contains the hymn “How Great Thou Art” as well).
On Easter Sunday, we had a packed house with over 200 people in attendance. The service started off with Ken and Gail’s worship team leading us in songs that celebrated the resurrection of Jesus. I’m pleased to report that we had 12 people make first time decisions for Jesus Christ – half of them in the adult service, and half of them in the children’s classes! Twelve new members of God’s family, adopted, accepted, forgiven – praise the Lord! SO excited – that’s AWESOME! In the service, our Costa Rica team shared their human video HEALER that they have been working on for their mission trip. You can watch a video of their presentation HERE on Youtube – we’ve had over 200 hits in just two days! It was powerful! After the video, I shared a message on “Experiencing the Resurrected Life” and more than just looking at the historical and Biblical facts for the resurrection, I also shared how we can experienced His resurrection power in our lives today. We have the audio from that service on our website as well…
I want to invite you to come and join us for the next two Sundays as we conclude our Revelation 2012 series. This Sunday, April 15th, we will be giving an overview of chapters 13-18 – a look at the identity two beasts, the mark of the beast, and some of the events that will happen in the last days. Then on Sunday April 22nd – Lord willing – we will wrap up our series with chapters 19-22, looking at the second coming of Jesus, the Day of Judgment, and a glimpse of what Heaven will be like. Hope to see you there!
We will also be having a Soup Luncheon fundraiser this Sunday, April 15th, to raise some money for our Costa Rica mission trip. Plan to stick around after the service for soup and fellowship with our church family!
