The Monday Funnies – The Serenity Prayer?

Calvin and Hobbes has been my favourite comic strip ever since I first read the first collection probably 20 years ago. Not only are they incredibly funny, but Waterson gives us an interesting and often philisophical look at our lives and the world around us through the eyes of six year old Calvin and his tiger Hobbes. Incidentally, Calvin is named after the Christian reformer John Calvin, and Hobbes is named after Thomas Hobbes, an English philisopher. Here’s Calvin’s take on the popular serenity prayer…

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thess. 5:16-18).
