Costa Rica 2014 – Day #2b: Evening Church Service in Belen

Tonight, we had our first church service in a community called Belen. We led worship together with Pastor John, then shared our two songs “Tu Amor Es Grande” and “Christo Es mi Super Heroe”. One of our team members, Nettie, shared a personal testimony about her experience with the love of God the Father, and Tori, Amy and Alice shared a special song: “Great is the Lord.” (Tori played guitar, Amy and Alice sang). Then our group shared our “Cuan Grande es Dios” drama. It was powerful! The people at the Belen church were so hungry for revival, and for a fresh touch from Jesus…

After our drama, I preached a message that Pastor John interpreted into Spanish about The Father’s Heart of Love. We looked at how the Bible says that God loves us so much that He adopts us into His family (see 1 John 3:1), and we looked at the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15. Then, we shared our team’s cardboard testimonies, declaring what our lives were like before Christ, and how they are different since we met Jesus. After that, we went into an awesome time of praying for people – young and old – to encounter the love of the Father, and receive healing, freedom, and transformed lives.

Check back tomorrow for another update on our adventures in Costa Rica!

One Response to Costa Rica 2014 – Day #2b: Evening Church Service in Belen

  1. You are so richly blessed to be there among the sweet people of Belen. You can just see in their faces, the love and hunger for Christ. The setting is so intimate and reminds me of the days of revival in the United States. Those were very intimate and precious times of worship with our Lord. The authenticity of this mission is evident in the photos shared. God bless each of you in this time of sharing and devotion to our Savior. ~ Amen :Y
