About

About Me:

Pastor Chris at the riverChristopher Joshua River Jordan:

I grew up in a little house on the Canadian prairies in Rouleau, Saskatchewan – home of the fictional town of “Dog River” from the TV sitcom Corner Gas. I graduated from high school in June of 1990.

Although I first became a Christian in August of 1989, it wasn’t until September of 1990 that I radically committed my life to Jesus Christ. For the next year, I attended Solid Rock Ministries in Regina, a powerful little church pastored by Erwin Dyck and Dave Koop. In January of 1992, I attended Christ for the Nations Bible College in Surrey, BC. After only a year and a half of Bible College, I started interning at Victory Christian Centre (now Relate Church), where I served as the youth pastor for four years. Two of those years were also spent as a prayer minister working for KCM Ministries.

In March of 1995, I married my best friend, Liza Woods. In January of 1997, I enrolled in Pacific Life Bible College (PLBC), and came on staff at Bible Fellowship Church (now Horizon Church). For the next ten years, I served that local church as youth pastor and Christian Education Director. During that time, I was the chapel speaker for the primary students at Regent Christian Academy (RCA). I also taught several Bible classes at RCA, and filled in as a substitute teacher for many other subjects as well.

In May of 1999, I graduated from PLBC with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Leadership. After graduation, I taught Bible Research and Hermeneutics as an adjunct professor at Pacific Life for the next eight years. In September of 2006, Liza and I pioneered the Revolution Master’s Commission (RMC) discipleship program at Bible Fellowship.

Beausejour Community ChurchTwo months later, Liza and I received the call from the Lord to pastor Beausejour Community Church. Because we had just started the RMC program at Bible Fellowship, I felt we needed to complete the first year of this discipleship school before moving to Beausejour. So in January of 2007, I was installed as the lead pastor of BCC and started travelling back and forth between BC and Manitoba. In July of 2007, Liza and I moved to Beausejour with our four children: Caleb, Tori, Austin & Hannah.

I  have a passion to teach and preach God’s Word. I published my first book, “Supernatural: Contending for Signs and Wonders Today” in June 2010. My second book, “The Beausejour Pulpit” was released on Feb. 1, 2012. I am currently working on a youth fantasy fiction novel called “The Voyagers: Mutiny on the Fellowship.” I have also written numerous mini-booklets and devotionals. I currently serve as the President and Executive Director of the Overcomers Outreach of Canada 12 step recovery ministry.

I served at Beausejour Community Church for almost ten years until September of 2016, when I moved our family back to Surrey, BC to take a position as a guidance counsellor and high school teacher at Regent Christian Academy. In September of 2017, I will be expanding my role at RCA and serve as the full time Christian Perspectives Bible teacher.

I love living life to the fullest, and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I wanted to say thank you Pastor Chris for liking my post, “City of One” and for following my blog! What a blessing 🙂 . I really enjoyed your post on the lesson learned from your wife’s experience @ Chik-fi-A (lol). You’re right in so many ways. Faithfulness through fire and storm will make us stronger as individuals and as members of the body of Christ. Once again, thank you and God bless! ~Rebecca~

Hi Chris, I like your chart but have a problem with the interpretation that of the four riders on horses during the opening of the seals – you say in your chart that the first rider with a bow is Jesus. It would seem to me that there is no scriptural basis for this statement as Jesus is the rider on a White Horse from whose mouth comes a sword. Can you please explain your position on this. Rick

Hi Pastor… love your history. We have a lot in common… I graduated also in 1990 and got saved the same year. During my high school days we used to study about the Canadian Prairies and it was a very romantic lesson for me, living so far away in Africa!

Hey there. I found your blog through David Kitz’ wordpress blog. He used to be my pastor when I was still living in Ottawa. I was curious and decided to check your blog out. I noticed that you went to PLBC. I am originally from BC (born and raised in Vancouver), and my brother in a graduate from PLBC. I’m just wondering if you know him. His name is Blake Dunn. Anyhow, if you do, I am his sister, Staci and am a YWAMer in Brazil (have been for 11 years now). Blessings.

    • Chris Jordan says:

Thanks for the note, Staci… I do remember Blake – though I can’t remember what years he was at PLBC? That was a long time ago! Anyway, that’s cool to hear that you’re a YWAMer… my wife Liza attended YWAM at their arts school in Cambridge, ON, many years ago. Blessings to you today!

Several wks ago I did a google search re: “rivers of pleasure” after Fanny Crosby’s hymn “He Hideth My Soul” played over and over in my 69 yr old mind and I could not imagine rivers of pleasure being one of God’s blessings for me. Your sermon notes “Fullness of Joy and Rivers of Pleasure” popped up….Thank you for sharing that message with the whole hurting world. You have no idea how many out there (and here) God wants to speak to and nurture thru you.
